Yoga is accessible to all.

We are dedicated to guide our students on the path of yoga through the teachings and Practice of B.K.S Iyengar.

Everyone one is welcome. It is a journey towards health and well-being.

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” B.K.S. Iyengar

Regular practice increases suppleness, strength and stamina, improves posture and concentration and quietens the mind to promote well-being.

The practice of Iyengar Yoga begins with learning the art and science of asana and Pranayama (yoga postures and Breathing techniques) The method of study is orderly and progressive, and the postures are adjusted to meet the physical conditions and needs of each student.

While yoga asanas evolved to prepare the mind for meditation, it is also ideal for counteracting stresses of daily life. With B.K.S. Iyengar’s innovative use of props, the yoga poses are accessible to all students wishing to learn yoga at any stage of life. Asanas are based on understanding our personal needs and for that many props are used including belts, bolsters, blocks, chairs etc.

One of his many contributions to the tradition of yoga is his use of yoga therapy to help thousands of people with various illnesses, medical conditions, and diseases.

Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul creates the symphony of life.” – B.K.S. Iyengar

Iyengar yoga is well known for its emphasis on alignment which is much more than merely remembering a list of points. Instead it develops body awareness that reaches into all aspects of life .

Body awareness is developed through making adjustments to open areas of the body that are blocked . Understanding connections in our embodiment ( body , mind and breath) is central to Iyengar Yoga. We start understanding the difference between Movement and Actions.

Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action.” – B.K.S. Iyengar
